Hi, my name is Jordan Faustin, and I am a non-traditional, first-generation Haitian American student from Miami, Florida. My college journey began at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, where I was on a good track until the pandemic forced me to pause my education to help support my family. Once things improved, I returned to school and earned my associate's degree, becoming the first of six children in my family to achieve this milestone. My pursuit of higher education inspired my siblings to resume their own academic journeys, and I am proud to be a role model for them.
After earning my associate's degree, I transferred to Howard University to pursue my BS in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. During my time at Howard, I have worked incredibly hard, serving on the E-board for the SIAM chapter, playing for the Men's Rugby team, and participating in the SOB's HUEmpower Incubator program, which opened doors for my future career. My current GPA is 3.47 and am on track to graduate with Honors. I am immensely proud of what I have accomplished and am so close to the finish line, but I am currently facing a significant financial roadblock. Despite applying for several scholarships, I have a financial hold on my account, which is directly impacting my ability to graduate.
I currently have a financial hold of $12,521 that needs to be paid before I will be allowed to graduate. The funds raised will go directly toward paying off this financial hold, allowing me to graduate and continue inspiring my family and community. Any support or assistance you can provide would mean the world to me and help me reach this important milestone. Thank you for considering a donation or sharing my story. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on my life and future.
