Help Jordan go on a transformational vision quest

For fifteen years I’ve created spaces where people—especially sensitive, neurodivergent, and trauma-impacted people—can train, connect, and grow.

This became Tender Warrior, a working model for using martial arts and conscious connection to cultivate personal and collective resilience.

As this community grows I recognize that I can better support the culture we are building if I am more deeply rooted in my own wholeness and sense of belonging.

I invested years into a solo healing journey, but I’ve gone as far as I can on my own. What I’m missing is the wisdom of elders and the support of a lineage of practice in transformational work.

This July, I’ll embark on a vision quest with Animas Valley Institute—an organization that guides initiatory journeys to help people to connect to their gifts and make major life transitions.

The quest mirrors rites of passage across cultures: five days of preparation, fasting for three days and nights solo in the wilderness, and four days of integration to prepare to return to society.

Through this vision quest and through asking for support, I seek to heal the young parts in me that struggle with self-rejection, perfectionism, and feeling like I don’t fit in.

The artist and warrior in me have been in conflict my whole life, healing that rift will help me to step into my next chapter as a guide and community builder for the growing Tender Warrior community.

I believe that we all have something to contribute to society, a gift held within our wounds that is ours alone to offer. I seek to train guides and build community support practices that will be vital to orient, adapt, and thrive in this time of radical change and metacrisis.

The opportunity for this vision quest came about fairly quickly and while I received a partial scholarship, I still need help covering costs—including travel to southern Utah, backpacking gear, meals, and lost income while I’m away. I’ve been working extra in June, but the reality is: as a working-class person in Seattle, I can’t take this step without support.

Your contribution helps to make this vision quest a reality for me and helps to co-create the larger vision for Tender Warrior.

You can also support this journey in the following ways:

  • Check out Tender Warrior and tell people about our programs: Kickboxing for Sensitive People and Resilience Circles -- we're planning to launch teen classes in the fall as well as online courses
  • Mark July 13 - 16 on your calendar and send me encouragement and support during my fast and vision quest

Thank you for your support,
Jordan
