Help Jordan get back on his feet (Literally)
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
As many of you may already know, my younger brother Jordan suffered a tragic motorcycle accident recently. Another driver on a busy, fast stretch of highway was in such a hurry one morning. He abruptly crossed three lanes of traffic to get off an exit, cutting Jordan off in the center later and causing him to impact the hurried vehicle. Jordan was sent flying off his motorcycle at approximately 75mph and sustained severe damage to his leg, ankle, ribs and hand. After being rushed to the nearby trauma center, it was discovered that he had broken his tibia and ankle which required extensive surgery, pins and rods to repair. To add to the list of damage, Jordan had four broken ribs and a few fingers, not to mention the typical road rash after such a crash.
After more than a week in the hospital and being able to return home, Doctors estimate that with his recovery and physical therapy, Jordan may be able to resume normal activity in 4-6 months. For the time being and the near future, he is unfortunately wheel chair bound.
For many of you who aren’t aware, Jordan currently lives in Western Florida where he has been for three years now. His family and friends reside in Maine. My family has been making the trek down, taking turns to assist Jordan with every day tasks and help with his recovery while at home.
The hardest part to this process besides Jordan’s recovery, is the fact that this has caused him to lose his business. He has been self employed doing lawn care and landscaping for a few years now. This type of business requires hard, active work and mobility, none of this in which he can do now or in the near future. Paying bills, rent and even hospital expenses are totally out of the question right now. The young man who caused this accident unfortunately didn’t have insurance and Jordan’s insurance will only be covering a portion of the vast medical expenses he will incur over the span of his recovery. The rest is expected to be paid by Jordan.
Given the predicament this has put Jordan and my family in, we are hoping on the generosity of those around us to help assist him in getting through this. For those of you who know Jordan well, or don’t, please understand this isn’t something he feels proud about. We all know that he would reciprocate and support anyone who is in need.
