Jordan is a 22-year-old who has faced more challenges than most of us can imagine. He is bedridden and unable to eat or talk, relying on the care of a dedicated nurse and his loving family every day. Despite these difficulties, Jordan and his caregivers do everything they can to make sure he gets to his many doctor's appointments. Today is Jordan’s birthday, and while we wish we could celebrate with something special, our biggest hope is to give him the gift of safe, comfortable transportation.
The van Jordan currently rides in is 25 years old and no longer meets his needs. Jordan is tall—about six feet—and the cramped space makes every trip uncomfortable and stressful. The van's air conditioning and heat are unreliable, and the tires are in poor condition, adding to the worry every time they have to travel. When Jordan is placed inside, the foot pegs must be removed because they simply won’t fit in the van. Each trip is a challenge, but his nurse and family do their best to make sure he gets the care he needs.
A dependable, larger van with a lift would make a world of difference for Jordan. It would give him the space and comfort he needs to travel safely to his appointments, and provide peace of mind for his nurse and family. With a reliable vehicle, Jordan could get the care he needs without the added stress and discomfort of unsafe transportation. We know times are tough, especially around the holidays, but any support—no matter how small—would mean the world to us. If you can spare even a dollar, it would help us get closer to providing Jordan with the safe, comfortable transportation he needs. Merry Christmas, and thank you for considering helping Jordan.
