Help Jordan Fight His Battle Against Bowel Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Temani and i am fundraising for my dear mate and ADENCO collleague Jordan Pill.

Jordan is one of our blue-collar employees recently joining the business in March 2023 on our Yandicoogina projects at Rio and BHP.

Jordan Pill has been through a tough time recently finding out in October 2023 that he has Bowel Cancer after a routine colonoscopy.

Jordan is only 42 years old.

Jordan had developed in stomach pains in 2019 which subsequently resulted in Jordan undergoing a colonoscopy where 7 polyps were removed from his bowel and sent for biopsy. All came be clear however the specialist recommended he under a Colonoscopy every 2 years.

With COVID putting life a on hold in 2021 for many of us and the success of the first operation, Jordan went on about his life proposing to his partner Carly Hopgood and planning to live a seemingly normal life with their 2 boys Tex (14 yrs old) and Levi (12 yrs old). Something didn't sit well with Jordan and that second colonoscopy appointment that had been long put off was carried out where the specialist found a malignant polyp.

Myself and the ADENCO mobilisation team have been working in with Jordan since October last year to ensure he was making appointments and importantly getting surgery to remove the cancer and approximately 40cm of bowel and colon which occurred on the 5th December 2023. The surgery appeared successful at the time and Jordan was set to make a return to work on Thursday 25th January 2024.

After a follow up appointment on the 15th January 2024, the cancer was found to have spread to 1 of the 14 lymph nodes removed and he would now require chemotherapy for the next 6 months now and the given the potential threat of infection, Jordan now cannot return to work until his chemo has completed as this stage.

All of Jordans leave balances had depleted last year and he was just 30 days short of being able to apply for his long service through MyLeave. To add to the strain, there is no government assistance for patients other then a tax free payout under disability through centrelink which is less than $100 per week.

What Do The Funds Go Towards:
Jordans fiancé Carly is now the sole income for the next 6 months which will need to be juggled between providing carer support to Jordan and ensuring he meets his chemo appointments.

With the cost of living, bills, mortgage repayments, school fees and medical appointments to a name a few, you can appreciate the financial pressure they will soon be under.

All Donations will go a very long way here to helping a young family in need.

Any Help Is Appreciated
Jordan is a family man and a highly valued member of our ADENCO team at Yandi. Knowing Jordan for over 10 years, in and outside of work, he is a stand-up guy that will give the shirt off his back.

This is an initiative that I have instigated for Jordan and I would appreciate support from the wider Adenco Community beyond his immediate site team to dig in deep and provide any support you can to Jordan's unfortunate situation.

I know many people within the Business may not know Jordan but I am sure we can all sympathise with his situation which could happen to anyone at any time and i believe his story is worth getting behind much like we did for Peter Macmahon.

Any donations not matter how big or small are all appreciated.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this story,
