Hi!
So for those that don't know, I have a lot of health issues.
I have "severe left-sided ulcerative colitis" which requires 1200mg of mesalamine daily plus a Remicade infusion every 6 weeks (costs Medicaid around $10K every 2 months)
I also have gastritis, which requires 2 daily doses of omeprazole.
The weird one, which is the hardest, is the Bipolar 1A disorder (mostly depression, occasional mania)
I struggle with anxiety and depression 90% of the time, but sometimes I get too much energy and it causes chaos and havoc on my life and those around me. I am a rare one because I don't get violent, or even angry really, I just become very Troll-like and obnoxious. Long story short, I basically checked into Rehab and got clean from Weed, Kratom, Caffeine, and Nicotine (all stimulants and irritants) and now I feel 100% better.
I am also in an intensive outpatient therapy program starting this Tuesday. Once I complete it, I get a certificate that gives me Merit and Credit for my efforts in overcoming my instabilities. I want to gift it to my wife before we try having a child, so I can show her that I am serious about being a clean, straight arrow. This doesn't mean I won't ever have a beer, drink wine, smoke weed, or have a cigarette again. It just means that none of that will control me or my life anymore. It was all enough to risk my relationship with my wife and for that reason, I will never abuse those things again.
The other MAJOR reason I had to go to the facility? I needed some bloodwork done and re-adjustments were needed on my mental health medications. Apparently, lithium was non-existent in my blood and that's the main mineral our bodies use to regulate our mood. I honestly believe it regulates body temperature too because since I started taking it, not only has my mood improved 100% (and I am more optimistic) but my hands and feet don't sweat now. I have been dealing with clammy hands and feet for half of my adult life, so taking lithium literally saved my life. Now I am stable, healthy and happy, but I am just missing around 4-5K in my bank account in order to be on my feet again.
Thanks so much for your help and consideration.
Best Regards,
