Jordan Benissan, proprietor of Maine's award-winning West African restaurant Me Lon Togo, needs our help.
Jordan is in the process of relocating his restaurant from Rockland to Freeport. During this transition, he employed a contractor to do some plumbing and carpentry on the future site of the restaurant. The work was not up to standard and did not pass inspection. This led to a dispute between Jordan and the contractor, resulting in the contractor placing a mechanical lien on the property. If the lien remains in effect, Jordan will be in danger of losing access to the property and will be unable to reopen his restaurant. His friends want to raise $10,000 so that he can pay off the contractor and release the lien.
A DownEast Magazine's readers' poll named Me Lon Togo Maine's best African restaurant. Maine will be a richer place if this cultural treasure can continue. Please help! Thank you.
