My son Jordan has been passionate about baseball since he was nine years old, often falling asleep with his glove in one hand and a ball in the other. Over the years, his dedication to the sport has only grown, and this fall he’s earned a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: an invitation to the College Coaches Showcase Camp in Irvine, CA. On September 20, Jordan will have the chance to showcase his pitching, infield, and hitting skills in front of top college recruiters from programs like Maryland, Alabama, Arizona State, San Francisco, and UC Riverside. This is his second invite—first as a Junior, now again as a Senior—and it’s a testament to his hard work and talent.

Jordan’s journey has been filled with memorable moments, including winning the CIF Championship under Coach Hill’s leadership at Shafter High in 2024 and winning Sequoia League 2025. Baseball means everything to him, and he’s aiming for a college scholarship to help ease the financial burden on our family. As a single mom raising two kids, I’ve always tried to carry the responsibility on my own, but I don’t want my pride to stand in the way of Jordan’s dreams. Watching him work so hard and earn these invitations has been a blessing, and I want to give him every chance to succeed.
