Help Jordan and Skylar Regain Stability
Donation protected
Hiya friends! Jordan here! Skylar and myself are coming to you all in our eleventh hour. For those who may not be aware, in the last year, both Skylar and I have been diagnosed with a number of mental and physical health conditions, which have significantly reduced our quality of life, and drastically minimized our household income and our ability to pay our household expenses.
While we now have a case worker who will be helping us find programs to reduce our household expenses and help us carry some of this burden, and I am applying for an emergency grant through my employer to help us bridge the gap, these programs take time that we simply do not have at the present. We are late on many of our bills and have no immediate plan to resolve these issues.
I have been on a leave of absence from work since September, and Skylar has been unable to work in over a year as our medical conditions are chronic and debilitating. Our doctor has confirmed that currently with our conditions, neither of us are able to return to work. We are still determining how long that will be in effect for, at present I will be on a leave of absence until mid April. Skylar will likely never return to a traditional job. Over the last few months, Skylar and myself have been bringing in as many additional funds as we can through our social media presence online, and will continue to grow and nurture that brand as we come to terms with how these diagnoses will change our life moving forward.
I have set the donation goal of 2,500 in hopes that this will catch us up on the things we are behind on financially, and help provide us with assistance to acquire mobility aids for Skylar. These include a Cane and a Wheelchair. Right now, Skylar is mainly homebound, as she frequently faints while walking because of her medical condition. The mobility aids will help lessen the number of times this happens and will allow us to gain some sense of normalcy by allowing her to leave the house again.
I know that times are tough for everyone and I know that we are not the only ones struggling right now. Having always been the mom friend/caretaker, I am so scared to ask for help, but the truth of the matter is, we DO need help. We really need help.
