Help Jordan and Austin Rebuild After Hurricane
Donation protected
Hurricane Helene has caused widespread damage to our local communities and agricultural lands in Western North Carolina. Families have been displaced, farms have been devastated, and livelihoods are at risk.
Jordan, Austin and their newborn Jonathan are one family left with the devastating affects of the storm. Local farmers in Hendersonville, NC, they came back to their home after the hurricane to find it flooded, their crops completely washed away, and their pig lot destroyed. They are needing to pay for their home repairs themselves, as insurance will not cover the damage. They have accepted the fact that their farm is not going to be a driving source of income for the near future. They are currently displaced from their home as the mold and damage are not a safe option for them to stay in.
Jordan and Austin are incredible hardworking and resilient. They have shown incredible strength during this time as they work to rebuild their home and work out a plan for the future. My hope is that through the support of community, their strength can be amplified and they can have additional capacity to focus on healing and raising their sweet baby boy.

Your support can help provide immediate relief, specifically going towards their home repairs - mainly dry wall and window replacement for the side of their home, and painting. Any additional funds received will help to replace the income lost from their farm from which they typically sell vegetables, pork and beef to local markets. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference - thank you!!!

Note: I live in Asheville, NC and first met Jordan and Austin through a childbirth education class while preparing to welcome our babies into the world! It was obvious from the get-go what kind and hardworking people they are. I cannot emphasize their work ethic enough - they both worked right up until the moment Jonathan was born to support their family. Jordan literally was harvesting vegetables and canning while in early labor! (Definitely not my labor story!!) They are quick to offer help to others and aren’t the type to often ask for help themselves. They are so deserving of support at this time. If you have any questions about this family or my relationship to them before donating, feel free to reach out.
