Help Jordan Allen Recover From Violent Attack
Donation protected
Hey y'all, my name is Pearce Smithwick and I am kicking off this campaign for Jordan Allen, a friend/colleague who was involved brutal attack last week. Many of you seeing this, especially those of you working in the Low Voltage worlds, will recognize Jordan from various social media platforms as @tatted_tech. He is a very talented lead field technician and engineer who does fantastic work.
No one would have ever expected what happened last week. Jordan was on his way to take his boy to school and stopped briefly at a former neighbor's house. As they were preparing to leave, his boys noticed another individual across the street starring them down. This individual started to approach and moving in a threatening manner. Jordon quickly put his boys in his work van and then armed himself with the first weapon he could find, a pipe bender. This individual proceeded to attack Jordan with a knife and was able to stab him in the rear of his left tricep. Jordan fought back and beat the individual into submission before the police showed up to arrest him. The attacker is now in police custody. However, the police have warned Jordan that he still needs to be hyper-vigilant and armed given the attacker's history and ties to other criminal elements.
In the end, Jordan is going to be fine and be able to return to work. However far greater psychological damage was done in terms of his boys - they had to watch their father be violently attacked for no reason and in turn, violently beat the attacker into submission. They are now scared out of their minds, won't go outside, and have had to temporarily relocate to a safer location while Jordan and his wife plan their next steps.
That brings me to the point of this fundraising campaign. The goal is to help Jordan relocate his family permanently to a new, safe location in the US where he can continue to work and know his family is safe. No one should have to endure random acts of violence in this manner and then fear for their lives for having had to defend themselves. So let's stand in support of Jordan and help him take care of and protect his family in a new, safer location.
Please donate what you can. I know it sounds trivial, but every little bit helps and adds up quickly to help Jordan and his family start fresh.
