Update on our beautiful princess. Chest tube was placed and initially drained chylous fluid from the effusion. She has put out a significant amount of fluid but fortunately it is not cloudy it is called cirrus. We are getting her pain under control and getting her up and moving. She is on room quarantine because she came in with a cold but that didn't stop us we got her outside. There are no answers her for her only best calculated guesses. If the fluid doesn't dry up they want to proceed with an extremely painful procedure that uses caustic material for scar the lung and make the peritoneum stick. It doesn't always work and may have to be repeated and may stop this effusion but there is a solid chance an area where she had a previous effusion could spring open. The long term effects could limit her ability to have a transplant if she were to need one. It would also caused diminished lung capacity. We are working with her cardiologist and surgeon to look for newer less invasive procedures that would not add to her list of complications. However only one place in the world does this, CHOP in Philadelphia. We do not know what is going to happen. #CHDsucks #noisnotacceptable #breaktherules #dontevergiveup
