My mother is an incredible person who has always put others before herself. Recently, she has faced a series of serious health problems, including colon cancer, a broken hip, and a shoulder. These setbacks have made it impossible for her to care for herself, and she now needs ongoing home care to support her recovery and daily needs.

As her child, I want nothing more than to be there for her during this difficult time. Unfortunately, the rising cost of healthcare has made it impossible for us to afford professional help. She does not qualify for Medicaid benefits, which has left us with very few options. I am caring for her myself right now.
