Support Needed: Rebuilding after the February 4th Storm in Santa Cruz County (Updated)

Dear family, friends, and community members,

This GoFundMe campaign seeks to support our family as we rebuild after the devastating February 4th storm in Santa Cruz County. The storm tragically took the life of our dear friend and housemate, Bobby, while also causing significant damage to our home.

Our Connection to the Community:

We moved to Santa Cruz County in 2022 and were welcomed by the local community despite facing initial challenges with flooding damage to our new home. Through the hardships of 2023, we built strong connections and learned valuable new skills through DIY projects and working with local contractors. We also had the privilege of opening our home to Bobby and Xochi. Bobby was a beloved member of the community, known for his generosity with his time and his passion for playing guitar. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Fund Usage:

Roy Windom IV will be responsible for managing donations raised through this campaign. We are committed to providing transparent updates on how donations are utilized throughout the rebuilding process.

Immediate Needs:

Funeral and final arrangements for Bobby, supporting his family during this difficult time.

Temporary housing expenses as Roy and Xen rebuild their home.

We very much need help with a reliable workforce vehicle. If anyone has or knows someone who has affordable repair services or a small SUV or medium Pickup Truck available for sale or loan, please DM/PM Xen & Roy!

Recovery and Rebuilding:

Reconstruction costs not covered by insurance, including design, planning, and materials.

Unforeseen costs that present similar to the pet housing, medical issues, and reconstruction-related vehicle repairs that we have paid.

Long-term Support:

Assisting Roy in securing part-time/contract IT support/PM work to supplement income while managing the rebuilding process. DM with any local opportunities or referrals or questions.

Reaching Out to Donors:

We are sharing our story and updates through various Social Media platforms and News Reports. We are developing online interactive real-time group engagements to improve community togetherness involvement.
