Help Jones Survive!

From Nicole and Shaun,

We are hoping to raise as much donations as we can that will help go towards Jones at-home oxygen care plan and emergency bills. Currently, we don't know how long it will take him to recover as multiple doctors still don't know the cause of Jones' pneumonia. We appreciate all your help and just want our baby to get better and we've only had him for 3 weeks! We were in the process of purchasing pet insurance but he got sick before he was insured and all companies don't cover "pre-existing" illnesses. Current bills within 2 days have already accumulated to ~$10,000 and it has been really difficult on us as this was such an unexpected illness and financial burden with Shaun just starting his own business and Nicole transitioning into a new job. We love him so much and can't imagine a life without him. He has been hurting and struggling so much recently - we want to give him the best chance for recovery and survival.

Thank you so much for your time! Jones' story is posted below.

Jones Story

Hi my name is Mr. Jones and I was born on May 2, 2021.

Around a week and a half ago, I developed a cough - we all thought that it was a mild case of kennel cough since I was still active and was given antibiotics to treat it. However, day after day, I've been getting worse. Because of that, I had to get X-Rays and a blood test that revealed I had bronchopneumonia. I was prescribed more medication and we hoped for the best. Most of the time, I felt down and I had a non-stop cough and sometimes diarrhea; however, on other occasions, I still tried to play with mom and dad, especially chew on their feet and shoes!

2 days ago, I took a turn for the worse. I could barely move my head and anytime I tried to play, I was heaving and coughing non-stop and had to lay back down. I couldn't even stomach down my food without coughing some up. Even when my name was called, I was too weak to do anything.

I was rushed to the emergency center where doctors ran more tests, costing over $1000. The doctors released me to my family hoping that I would recover under their care; however, things did not look better. Less than a day later I had to rush back to an emergency 24/7 ICU where I am currently getting treatment. Doctors say that they are "hopeful" but I have a 50/50 chance of making it especially because I am an English Bulldog and since I haven't been responding to medicine. My best chance is just time to recover, specifically supplementary oxygen, since my lungs aren't functioning properly. My parents can no longer afford to keep me in ICU any longer than 48 hours as it costs over $3,000 a day so they have been looking for any alternative at-home treatments that are more affordable, can be administered longer, and can still offer me comfort, love, and care in my own home as I try to heal. Please help me get well soon - I want to recover and beat my odds! I'm a fighter.
