Help Jonathon Smile Again
Donation protected
We’ve all heard the saying “his smile lights up a room”. My nephew Jonathon is where this phrase originated! It has to be because when I tell you, HIS SMILE LIGHTS UP A ROOM! We were blessed with Jonathon 14 years ago. We knew before birth that he was diagnosed with Tretology of Fallot. His heart and lungs were going to need a lot of help. Jonathon, also affectionately known as Big Dawg, has gone through numerous open heart surgeries! My man has received two valve replacements and lived a majority of his life on ventilators, feeding tubes and hospital stays! The one thing that you never saw change or dim was his smile. After the second valve replacement Big Dawg was doing exceptional. Trying out some sports, excelling at school and becoming the teenager we were at one point afraid we may never get to meet. FINALLY, Jonathon was thriving and we could all relax alittle. Last week Jonathon was acting alittle not himself. Alittle slower, alittle weaker. Just not really Jonathon. He was taken to the emergency room where they airlifted him to another hospital in Jacksonville. It was determined he had an extreme infection in his new heart valve. He was septic. Things progressed rather quickly from this point. Big dawg was placed on the ventilator needing a new valve again, this time with an urgency. He received his new valve and got through the surgery with flying colors (we could see the surgeon was impressed with him). Shew! Now we can breathe again. Or so we thought….time to try to come off of the ventilator. But Jonathon wasn’t ready. We are told he has significant brain injury and will need to be kept sedated and intubated for a bit longer. So we wait. We wait so we can get the storming in his brain to ease. Only God and Jonathon know what the final outcome will be. His recovery is so uncertain at this time but what we are certain of is that we will see that smile that lights up any room, again!
Mikey and Tina have been some of the most amazing parents to watch during every trial and tribulation they have been through. And especially now, waiting to see what the future holds for their boy, they are holding strong, onto faith. Although we are uncertain what recovery will look like exactly we are certain that Jonathon will need around the clock care for a very long time. So I ask that you help Mikey and Tina out if you have the means so that someone can always be by Jonathon’s side during this trying time. I believe it will make all the difference in his recovery. And as always, please say a prayer for Big Dawg and for all of us that love him and can’t wait to hear all the millions of WWE facts that JT knows and see that amazing smile again
God Bless!
UPDATE 5/1/225
Jonathon’s heart is recovering well from the valve replacement. He’s off of the vent and breathing on his own. Working on coming off of oxygen soon. An MRI showed significant injury to his brain, a large area of his cortex. He wakes up but is not responsive (YET) to commands. He will be heading to an inpatient rehabilitation hospital for a few weeks to see if they can wake that pretty little brain up and get him waking up more. We are keeping the faith that JT is still with us and will make his way back. The power of prayer! Please continue to pray, without pause! He is an extraordinary kid, and with prayer on his side, he’s got this!
thank you all for all of the donations. Please know they are appreciated beyond what any words can express. It’s going to be a LONG road but with your help Mikey and Tina can worry less about bills and focus on Jonathon!
GOD BLESS!
