Hi, I’m Jonathan,
I’ve never been one to ask for a handout. I’ve always been a worker, someone who takes pride in showing up and doing my part. But life has recently hit me with a "perfect storm" of medical, financial, and systemic failures that I simply cannot navigate alone.
The "Diagnosis" That Sidelined My Life
A while back, I was injured on the job. Instead of receiving the care I needed, I was caught in a bureaucratic nightmare. A nurse gave me an incorrect diagnosis, which was then "rubber-stamped" by a doctor located eight hours away—someone who never even saw me.
When I finally saw a specialist who gave me an accurate diagnosis, Workers' Comp refused to accept it. They chose to stick with the "8-hour-away" version because it promised a "faster recovery" on paper. Because of that, my benefits were canceled, and I was forced onto SSDI. I am too injured to work, but the system decided I was "fine" just to save themselves money.
The Struggle to Manage My Health
Living on a fixed SSDI income is a daily battle, especially while managing Bladder Exstrophy, a birth defect I’ve lived with my entire life. Between the specialized supplies I need and the chiropractic care required to manage my workplace injury, the medical bills have become a mountain I can’t climb. My car is my only way to get to these critical appointments, but on my current income, I am at risk of losing it.
Bringing My Wife Home
Perhaps the hardest part of this journey is being separated from my wife. She is currently overseas, and she is my primary support system. The legal fees and filing costs for the immigration process are thousands of dollars we simply don't have. Having her here in America would not only provide the emotional support I need but would allow us to finally build our lives together as a family.
Why I’m Asking for Your Support
I’m not looking for a legal battle—I simply can’t afford a lawyer, and I’d rather focus my energy on healing. I’m looking for a bridge to a stable life. Your donations will go directly toward:
• Paying off my vehicle to ensure I have reliable transportation for my medical care.
• Covering chiropractic treatments and medical supplies for my injury and Bladder Exstrophy.
• Finalizing the immigration process to finally bring my wife home.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this story. Every share brings me one step closer to a stable life and a reunited family. Thank you for standing with me when the system wouldn’t.
With gratitude,
Jonathan
