Help Jonathan Hobson Recover After Lightning Fire Damages Home and Vehicles
On the night of May 18th, a lightning strike caused a fire at the home of our coworker and friend, Jonathan Hobson.
Jonathan serves as the Lead Project Coordinator in the Facility Planning Department at Ole Miss, where he’s known for his dedication, professionalism, and kindness.
While his home was not completely destroyed, it sustained significant fire and smoke damage. Both of his vehicles were also badly damaged in the incident. Thankfully, Jonathan and his family are safe—but they now face the difficult and costly process of repairing their home, replacing essential belongings, and restoring transportation.
We are raising funds to help cover:
Home repair costs not fully covered by insurance
Insurance deductibles for the home and both vehicles
Temporary transportation and living expenses
Replacement of essential items lost or damaged
In addition to this GoFundMe, donations can also be made in person at the Facility Planning Department office at the University of Mississippi.
Any amount you can give will help ease the burden on Jonathan and his family as they work to recover from this unexpected disaster. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others.
Let’s come together to support Jonathan and show him that the Ole Miss and Oxford communities stand with him.
