Meet Jonathan

Jonathan is a hardworking, kind young man who recently found a job at Pascale Manale's, a restuarant that is close to our neighborhood in New Orleans. After hitting a difficult patch and finding himself without permanent housing, he was living in his car so he could stay close to work. During the brief time we got to know him, he was unfailingly polite and respectful—and determined to keep working and get back on his feet.

On September 10, 2026, just after midnight, Jonathan was shot twice during an attempted car break-in in our Uptown New Orleans neighborhood. He was critically injured and has already undergone two emergency surgeries. He survived, but he now faces a long and difficult recovery.

We are three women who live on the corner where Jonathan was shot. We had gotten to know him while he was staying in our neighborhood, and we cannot stand by and watch this senseless act of violence derail a young man who was already working so hard to rebuild his life.

We are raising money to help Jonathan with medical expenses, stable housing, and transportation, including repairs to his car, so that he has a safe place to recover and, when he is able, a way to return to work.
