Help Jonathan Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
In early June of 2018, 14 year old Jonathan Santoya was discovered to have several large tumors in his liver, neck, and chest. After further testing it, he was diagnosed with Hepatocellular carcinoma or HCC which is a type of liver cancer.
For a few weeks, Jonathan began to have some back pain as well as trouble laying down. He had planned a trip to Texas for the summer with his grandmother but shortly after them leaving, things quickly began to worsen. Jonathan needed help getting up, walking, and even using the restroom. He was then rushed to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago where he was diagnosed.
After lots of testing, diagnosis, and weeks in the hospital, Jonathan was given a treatment regimen. He will have to do a mix between chemotherapy sessions and medication for 9 weeks then re-evaluation.
Though Jonathan has endured tremendous pain, he remains in high spirits and does nothing but show gratitude for all of those around him who help. He has an incredibly supportive family, doing everything in their power to help this young man beat cancer’s butt!

As many know, expenses for treatment for cancer, medication, travel, time from work, and everything else that goes into helping fight this terrible disease, are unrealistically high. Though insurance can take some of the burden, it does not even begin to take away the struggle of everything that goes into fighting cancer.
While Jonathan is extremely grateful and has a strong emotional support system, cancer treatment comes with serious financial concerns and unexpected expenses that the family would like to be prepared for. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support Jonathan and his family during this difficult time.
Any little bit will help.
