I've never been good at asking for help; I usually avoid it at all costs, but I don't really know what else to do at this point. My role was eliminated at the end of March, and while I got some severance, it's mostly run out, and the job hunt has been more difficult than expected. I applied for unemployment benefits at the start of April, but the claim is still pending. They already have all the information they need, but they're short-staffed and have a high number of claims, so they're behind on processing and unable to provide an update on when I can expect to receive anything.

Things have always been a struggle living paycheck to paycheck, but I've managed to get by till now. As I said, the severance is mostly gone, so with nothing coming in right now, I'm not really sure what to do about upcoming rent and bills. For now, I'm just continuing the job search. I know I'll find the right role; it's just taking longer than I'd hoped.

Those that know me know I'm usually quick to offer my own help however I can but reluctant to accept. At this point, I don't really see any other options, so here I am. Any little bit you can contribute helps keep this weirdo in Somerville. I know everything's going to work out, just not sure how yet.
