Our mom recently passed away from complications of chemotherapy and a viral infection that turned septic. My brother Jonas and my mom shared an apartment and split the costs. With her gone, creditors are coming to collect from her small estate, and we don't have the funds or means to keep Jonas in the apartment long term with just his finances. We have a lot to do with paperwork, and an apartment and garage full of boxes, furniture, and other things that we need time to go through. We can't risk Jonas being without a place to live while we handle all of this.

The funds will help us keep Jonas in the apartment by covering rent, utilities, care for our mom's cats, moving costs for things we can't sell, and taking care of her car so it can eventually be sold. This support will give us the time and stability we need to sort through everything and honor our mom's memory.

We don't like asking for help, but because our mom declined so quickly, we didn't have a chance to get everything figured out. We just need a little help to take care of the things she didn't get to finish, and to care for what mattered most to her—her cats and Jonas' wellbeing. Anything that can be spared will be a help, and everything will be appreciated more than I can ever express.
