Help Jon with his Stroke Rehabilitation

Hi, my name is Tia King.

My brother Jon’s life changed dramatically this past Thursday, when he woke up at 3am and realized something was very wrong. His left arm was feeling funny, he felt clammy and lightheaded. Jon checked his blood pressure and it read 201/130!! He immediately rushed to the ER. Not long after he arrived, Jon learned that he had suffered a stroke.

After multiple tests and scans the doctors are still unable to determine where Jon’s hemorrhage came from and they do not plan to release him from the hospital until that point. Recovery is going to be a process that requires expensive physical therapy so that he can get back to or close to his baseline, before the stroke. The doctors are very optimistic for his recovery, but it will take time and PT is extremely imperative in his recovery.

Jon has lost some of his fine motor skills and is unable to fully use his left arm and leg, to their fullest capabilities.

Also, since the stroke has affected his left side and he’s left-handed so even basic things are hindered – like writing, eating, etc.

Jon is still sitting in the hospital room, with the full knowledge that, without insurance, his medical bills will simply be too much for him to pay. He has also recently learned that he can no longer work as a hairdresser, for an unknown amount of time, if and when his fine motor skills return.

Please keep my brother, Jon and our family in your thoughts and prayers and if you feel inclined to do so, help him with some of these bills until he can get back on his feet again.

Jon has always been the first to step up when anyone else is in need. He has a servant’s heart and lends a hand anytime he can. He was a caretaker to his uncle for over twenty years. His uncle was paralyzed from the neck down and unfortunately passed away two years ago. He has also recently taken in, and is helping support both of his elderly parents.

Anyone that knows Jon, knows he has a heart of gold! He is kind, loving, generous, witty, extremely hard working and very determined to put in the work so that he can get back to, as close to normal, as possible.
