——————————————————
My name is Amanda. I am one of Jonathan’s younger sisters. On behalf of my family I am posting this go fund me page to help in the next steps of Jon’s recovery.
On November 29, 2022 Jonathan was in a horrific car accident. His injuries were life threatening and was immediately rushed to the ICU where he was cared for by nurses, trauma surgeons and orthopedic surgeons for 3-4 weeks
Jon required a breathing tube during those weeks, his whole body was swollen and bruised. His Injuries… A compound fracture to his left arm and left leg. Much of the bone was either shattered or missing. He has had multiple surgeries inserting metal plates, rods and pins.
Both his right arm and leg were broken along with broken ribs, pelvis, sternum, knee cap, eye socket, nose, a shattered hip, a fractured skull, and a tear in his vertebral neck artery. He has extensive nerve damage to his right hand which he has minimal function of currently.
After Jons stay in the ICU/Hospital he was transferred to an inpatient nursing facility where he stayed to be cared for in hopes that he could stay until he was ready for physical therapy. Sadly he was there for 3 weeks before reaching some difficulty from his insurance company and had to leave.
Audreys mother Jen has been a blessing to the family, watching over and caring for jon for 2 months after he left inpatient. He had gotten the clearance to start bearing weight on both his legs in April and has stayed at another inpatient facility for the past three weeks. With much effort from my father the VA covered his stay but that time has run out as well. His health insurance now stated they will not be covering future physical therapy which he will need to strengthen his legs and body enough to care for himself.
Because inpatient facilities are no longer covered Jon has relocated back to Audreys mothers temporarily until he moves back into his home where I will be staying with him for 2 months. During this time i am committing to seeing Jon through his physical therapy and doctors care so he will be closer to living independently again.
Jons parents Dana, Ellen, Elena and John have put in an enormous amount of time and effort to see through his recovery both financially and emotionally. Our family is asking for donations for future medical expenses. The funds will be used for all out of pocket costs for physical therapy, transportation, doctors appointments and medication. No donation is too small and is greatly appreciated.
Jonathan is an amazing father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is loved beyond measure. Our only wish now is to see Jon whole again with a light in his eyes and living life to his fullest with family, friends and baby girl Audrey. Jonathan is a miracle, we feel blessed he is still with us and know his journey does not end here because financial trials.
Even if you are not capable of donating, sharing this page would help make an impact!
I will update this page when he has made progress however it has been and will continue to be slow.
