Help Jon Rice Get New Leg Braces
We have a wonderful young man in our congregation, Jon Rice, who has been living with a debilitating degenerative disease since childhood. He has relied on leg braces since he was just seven years old to help him walk, but now, as an adult, his braces are breaking down—one is cracking, and the other is completely worn out.
Jon has been fitted for new braces at the University of Michigan, but the cost is overwhelming. We want to rally around him and help ease the financial burden so he can continue to move through life with as much comfort and stability as possible.
A Letter from Jon:
“My pain is so debilitating that I have a hard time getting out of bed. Chronic nerve and muscle pain affect me every day, making even simple tasks exhausting. It runs from my feet, up my legs, and into my back. I rely on a cane almost daily.
To manage my pain, I take hot baths—sometimes twice a day—and use an air compression massager with heat several times throughout the day. Without these, my pain becomes even more unbearable.
I have worn braces since I was a child, but now they are breaking down, making it even harder to walk. I desperately need new ones to maintain my mobility and independence. Any help would mean the world to me.”
Jon is an incredibly kind and strong individual who never complains despite the daily struggles he faces. Let’s come together to support him in getting the medical equipment he needs to stay on his feet.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
