Help Jon Recover from Tragic Dog Attack
Donation protected
My name is Jon and I am a disabled veteran living on a fixed income in Baltimore City. On Wednesday, October 30th, I was walking both of my 3 y.o. dogs, Bruno and Candice, when an unleashed Pit Bull ran towards us. Bruno was viciously attacked. The owner, a young man who lives nearby, ultimately did not take responsibility, and this left me in a position where I was forced to euthanize Bruno because he was so mortally injured.
The attacking dog had broken both Bruno's front legs, punctured his left eye, and inflicted deep bites on his chest, neck, and face.
The young man left the scene, and the unleashed dog ran away. I did call the police, and they have filed a report, and animal control is investigating this now.
This tragedy is not only affecting me emotionally but also financially.
After the tragedy of euthanizing Bruno, my other dog Candice became ill, and I discovered that she too had been attacked and had bite marks over her body. She required intensive around-the-clock veterinary care, sedation, x-rays, pain medication, and IV fluids. Thankfully, the Ronnie Stanley Foundation and PAWS of War were able to assist a little bit with her veterinary care.
I am humbly requesting assistance with the debt I have hanging over me from all the veterinary and additional transportation costs since I don't have a car, and I am currently unemployed.
Please help with whatever you can.
Respectfully, Jon Pilgrim
