Help Jon Hill Be with His Mom in Her Final Days
Donation protected
Jon Hill is a dedicated son, husband, and Chief Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. His mother has been fighting off stage 4 cancer and was readmitted to the hospital at the end of May with worsening symptoms. Her condition began improving, but during her first day of rehabilitation, she had a mini stroke while practicing sitting up and walking. Based on a subsequent lumbar puncture, on June 11, she was diagnosed with metastases to her brain stem. Jon was by her side, sleeping in a chair, throughout her readmission, and has been splitting time between Lubbock, TX, where he and his wife live, and Avery, TX, where his mom is receiving care - over 450 miles away. As his mom has moved to hospice, Jon needs support to spend as much time as possible with her and pay for expenses related to her medical care, his travel and accommodations, and time out of work.
Jon is the Senior Enlisted of our Navy medical detachment out of San Diego and served as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the medical team on a recent Innovative Readiness Training mission in Puerto Rico. Jon is a hard-working, humble, and devoted sailor, and we are honored to be able to support him in this difficult journey with his mom.
