Let's Help Jon to Help Yoda!
Jon and Yoda Ramirez
I'm honored to say Jon is one of my best friends. We've known each other since high school. Further than that, he's one of my husband's best friends, and he has become like a brother to me. He has always been there when we called. He has watched our home, our pets, and even assisted my daughter when needed. Those who have met Jon don't soon forget him, and they know his loyalty and pride run deep.
At this time, Jon is asking us for help. And if you've met Jon, you know he doesn't take this lightly.
It's been almost two years (June 14, 2018- also the anniversary of Jon's 1st day of Army Basic Training) since Bubba sent me a text telling me Jon had become a father. I wish I had a picture of my face when I read that text! LOL
Adoption Day!
Look at that smile!
Later that day, Jon arrived at our house with this tiny, skin-and-bones little dog with the BIGGEST ears her little body could hold up. She had already bonded so closely to him, that she followed his every step and move. She won us over instantly. She fits right in everywhere she goes and she is his girl. They've been inseparable ever since.

And she has flourished in his care. She is now the bouncy, healthy little pup she was always meant to be.
Always up for an adventure!
Little Yoda Ramirez (as she is affectionately named) has been experiencing some health issues that until now, were being managed with regular vet visits and medications.
She has been seeing a vet since February 2020 for lens luxation, cataracts, and glaucoma.
Sadly, this past Saturday, things took a turn for the worse. As Jon was treating Yoda's eyes, one of her lenses separated and her eye ruptured. This is a very painful condition and puts her in a great risk of further illness with infection and complications.
She is currently on antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain meds to buy time and keep her comfortable, but this has affected her overall well-being, greatly. She is uncomfortable and not eating well. She is not her usual, bouncy self.
Yoda is in need or URGENT surgery to remove her eye. The sooner, the better.
Timing being what it is, with this crazy 2020 that we have all been experiencing, Jon is in need of assistance with the medical fees required to make the surgery, another side treatment for her general health, and her aftercare happen. The total cost coming to just around $1500.00.
Jon came to Bubba and me not to ask for help, but to share his current difficulties. To get a virtual hug, shall we say?
Of course, we can't let him struggle through this alone!
We asked for his blessing to make this plight public. He agreed, out of his love for little Yoda Ramirez. She is his sidekick, through and through.
She's even a Browns Fan!!!
She is such a little angel, that when Jon's mom lay ill at the hospital, the staff allowed her to rest on the best with Jon's mom, bringing her peace and comfort during her illness. She has the biggest heart you'll ever find in such a tiny body.

If every one of our friends in Rocket Nation shared this cause or donated their pocket change, we can make this happen!
If your life has ever been touched by Jon or a pet you loved as he loves Yoda, please take a moment to donate or share. Even sharing helps immensely.
Jon was hesitant to allow me to ask for help on his behalf. He realizes that everyone in the world is struggling with issues right now, be it financial, emotional, or otherwise.
He wants everyone to know:
-Every amount is welcomed and greatly appreciated.
-Every kind word and donation will be taken to heart.
-Your kindness will not be taken lightly during this difficult time in our crazy world.
Please take a moment to share, donate, or leave a kind message for Jon and Yoda Ramirez to get through this difficult next few weeks.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Erin Ruscin (Saxton)
