Jon has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Jon and Lois welcomed their son into the world six months ago and life has changed drastically in very little time. Jon had knee pain that resulted in an MRI that found a mass in his left femur on January 22nd, 2024. He met with an oncologist on January 24th, 2024 and was admitted to the hospital for anemia and received three units of blood. Jon had a biopsy and femur repair on January 30th, 2024. During the surgery, it was discovered that the mass was not the primary location. Jon was admitted to the hospital for imaging and procedures to provide a diagnosis of colon cancer on February 2nd, 2024. Since being diagnosed Jon has had multiple procedures, radiation, iron infusions, and chemotherapy. Jon's cancer has now moved to the bone marrow and treatment is no longer an option. After almost two years of fighting, he is now on hospice. We are using donations to pay for medical bills, burial expenses, groceries, and household bills. His wife has taken FMLA from her job that will mostly be unpaid. This support will also ensure that Jon's family will be able to provide for Alaric during and after Jon's journey.
