Help Jon and Charles Stay Together in the US
Donation protected

My name is Jon, and I met my husband Charles on Discord(a popular app used for gaming). We visited each other, fell in love and got married June 24th, 2024. I honestly never saw marriage in my future. Charles redefined my purpose in life, as he brings out the best in me.
With marriage, I can sponsor Charles for his green card to live and work in the US. This will also allow him to still visit his family and friends in Canada around the holidays and be permitted to re-enter the US once visiting is done. In order to obtain the necessary authorizations, we have to file several forms with USCIS and hire an immigration attorney to assist. The fees are nearly $3,000. While I expected there to be fees for the forms and paperwork, I genuinely did not expect these fees to be so high. Immigration is a booming business. Thankfully, most of us will not have to ever deal with this. While I got lucky marrying a man who I absolutely love and adore, I didn't get so lucky avoiding immigration fees and procedures.
I work 45 hours per week full time, and I have a part time job that affords me an extra 15-20 hours a week. Most of my income pays for rent, utilities and food.
I am asking for donations to help us cover his fees. While I am not proud of having to ask for help, I am comfortable living with it if it means my husband gets to stay with me. The old saying "You can't help who you fall in love with" is most definitely true. While his visitor visa does not expire until September, we are on a bit of a time crunch as ideally, we would like to have the fees and paperwork filed by August 18th. On August 19th, the PIP program goes into place and USCIS is expecting an uptick in applications which could significantly delay processing times for residency applications.
Please do not worry about how little you can donate. Every dollar, every cent helps us get closer to our goal. Everything is appreciated so very much appreciated. It really does all add up, and if you truly cannot donate any monetary funds to our cause at this time, we would be most happy and content if you simply shared this with your own family and friends.
The funds will be allocated as follows: $1,249
USCIS forms: $1,440
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I hope you have found a love as great as the one Charles and I share, and if not, I hope that you too one day find it as well.
