Hello everyone, my name is Jomar Reyes and my grandmother, Marita Isip, passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025.

One of my grandmother's final wishes is for her final resting place to be next to my grandfather in the Philippines, surrounded by all her loved ones.

My grandma was kind, strong, joyful, and hard-headed. Prior to her passing, my aunt's family from my mom's side was visiting for a two-week vacation. This was the happiest I had seen grandma in a while. She had been reunited with her two daughters. My grandma, aunt, and mom would play cards and gamble money in the evening, and in the morning, we would ask who won, grandma would say that she lost and would ask us for more money to gamble. Unbelievable!

On the day of her passing, my aunt, uncle, and parents were coming back from a 3-day trip to San Diego. Around 4 pm, grandma suddenly collapsed on the ground. Luckily, my three brothers and I were present. We dialed 9-1-1 right away and began CPR to give her a chance until the EMS arrive. My neighbor told me that he saw my grandma regain her breathing while the EMS was wheeling her; she was fighting however, sadly, she passed but she didn't pass alone. The main cause was cardiac arrest.
