My beloved partner, Jolly, is in immediate need of financial help due to Covid job loss, an unlawful arrest, and growing health issues from that arrest.
He has gained and lost at least three jobs in 2020 while still building a justice organization here in the San Fernando Valley. He volunteers his time to houseless outreach, to detrashing local neighborhoods, and shuttling resources to those sheltering in place. He has spent the whole of the pandemic working to help his community stay healthy, and in doing so, he has fallen on hard times.
His phone was confiscated by the police during his arrest and never returned, as well as paying out lawyer fees for the arrest. His current computer is on its last leg, and staying connected or even looking for a job is difficult without funds. Come to the end of January, when the rental moratorium ends, he is at risk of losing his housing due to the rent increase and the loss of his roommates.
These funds will go to paying rent and medical bills. I know the past few months have been hard on many of us, but maybe we can help Jolly get back on his feet.
