Help Joline Spend Her Final Months With Her Family
Donation protected
There are no words strong enough to describe the heartbreak of being told your child is dying.
Joline Marie, is 18 years old. She is kind. She is bright. She is creative, curious, compassionate—and she is dying of a rare and aggressive cancer called epithelioid sarcoma.
For nearly four years, Joline has endured more than any young person ever should
• A tumor that grew silently in her abdomen for two years before it was found.
• 25 sessions of radiation.
• The removal of an ovary at 13 to preserve a future she may now never see.
• A 14-hour surgery to save her life.
• Chemotherapy that took her hair and stole her strength.
• 10 grueling surgeries and procedures.
• And still, the cancer came back—again and again.
Last summer, Joline and her family received news no-one should ever have to hear:
“There is no cure”
The cancer has returned with a vengeance. It’s in her lungs. Her stomach. Around her kidney. On her head. Her doctors have told us we are no longer looking at years, we are looking at months.
Joline knows and with unimaginable courage, she continues the brave battle against the cancer.
Her parents, as you can imagine are devasted, but they are determined to give her what she deserves:
To be home, surrounded by love. With her mom (Jo-Anne) and dad (Brian) and big brother (Riley) holding her through every moment that remains.
This is where they need your help.
In order for Brian to be there, I mean truly be there every moment of the day without worrying about how they will keep the lights on or pay the mortgage, her dad Brian must take a leave from work. But the reality is, in today’s economy, that comes with enormous financial strain.
Nothing matters more to them than being with Joline.
She doesn’t need hospital walls. She doesn’t need to wake up alone.
She needs to wake up to her parents at her side. She needs to fall asleep knowing she is safe and loved.
Please, if you are able. Help them be with their daughter.
Help them give her peace and comfort.
Help them give her the only thing she’s asking for right now, to be surrounded by love in the time she has left.
No family should ever have to choose between paying the bills or holding their child through the end.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping them as they carry Joline through this final chapter with grace, dignity, and surround her with love.
