Help Jolene Get to D.C. For a Once in a Lifetime Performance

My name is Jolene Abercrombie and I am a student in the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program. Through the Symphony, I have the honor to perform for our country at the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America in Washington D.C. This event will be on July 4th, 2026 and it is a huge opportunity to be able to perform with my peers and the Master Class, at the historical Warner Theater in Washington, D.C.

My family and I are trying to raise the funds needed for travel expenses and any other unforeseen costs for the duration of my stay in D.C.

This performance is a major milestone in my life and future musical career. I have been playing the violin for 7 years and this is a once in a lifetime performance I've been working towards. Never once have I thought that I would get to this level due to my disability called Bethlem Myopathy. I have not let this disability take me down as I am quite active and grateful that I do not need major medical interventions.

As I grow into adulthood, this disease may affect me more than it is now. Bethlem Myopathy is a degenerative neuro-muscular disease that affects my joints, muscles, and heart. The disease will progress as I continue growing, which makes this event even more special and important to me.
