Help Joleen and Jane Find Stability and Hope
Donation protected
On July 16, 2024 we tragically lost our 30 year old son, Lucas Van Harmelen, leaving behind the love of his life, Joleen, and their beautiful 4 year old daughter, Jane. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this young family has experienced grief. They had a 2nd daughter, Nora, who was birthed stillborn and entered heaven before even entering the world. This leaves Joleen and Jane in a very vulnerable state, both monetarily and emotionally.
Being a single mother these days is a very daunting task on any given day, but especially tough when trying to process something as tragic as this while still dealing with the loss of Nora.
Recently her car has become unreliable, so long distance travel is out of the question, making it difficult to impossible for her to do her job, attend family gatherings and holidays, which take place a minimum of 4 hours away, let alone making the trip from Lacey, WA to Sparwood, BC to visit Jane's cousin Bo.
Currently, Joleen and Jane are residing with Joleen's mother, sister, and her sister's children, where there is little space and privacy. Joleen is in the process of finding their own place, but due to the housing crisis and lack of finances, that has been incredibly difficult. She has been “door dashing” to make ends meet currently.
Unfortunately, struggle has been no stranger to this beautiful family, and we believe they just need some help in order to get their feet on the ground and for Joleen to gain some independence. We are hoping to raise enough money for her to pay off her debt she incurred by having to break her lease due to not being able to afford the rent after maxing out her credit cards just to keep a roof over their heads, make her vehicle more reliable so that it won’t break down on those long trips to keep in touch with her relatives or while driving to make ends meet, to help her get into her own place, gasoline cards, and gift cards to the grocery store. 100% of whatever funds are raised are dedicated to Jolene Dennis.
God willing, with your help, we will be able to accomplish that. No matter how small or large your contribution, it will lighten the hearts of two lovely young ladies that we have had the ability to bond with and grow so much closer to in the midst of this tragedy. If you can’t donate, please don’t feel bad, if you could share this instead, you could end up blessing them in that way or if you don’t like donating online and would rather drop off something at our home or in our church mailbox we will be sure to pass that along as well. Just send a message on messenger to Maynard John Van Harmelen or Sherri Van Harmelen and either of us can give you our address or arrange a time we can pick it up. Thank you so much from the very bottom of our hearts and may God bless you all!!!❤️❤️❤️
