My sweet, goofy, loyal boy Joker needs bilateral perineal hernia repair surgery.
The Dr. at Hinkle Pet Hospital said it was something he could live with till I had the funds to get it fixed, so we started with meds and a diet change to see if we could keep him comfortable in the meantime. Unfortunately, in the past week or so, he has begun to seem increasingly more uncomfortable, having a hard time getting comfortable so he can lay down and is also not wanting to do physical activity he once enjoyed, like playing Frisbee or running with the other pups. I ended up taking him to the specialist the vets recommended (Upstate Emergency & Specialty Vet) and was told that it would be around $5500 to fix. I applied for a care credit card and was only approved for about $500. I've called around to other vets to see if they would be able to do the surgery and have applied to different organizations that help with funding. I feel bad for having to ask, but due to moving to another city and having to rebuild my business from scratch, I don't have the funds I once had to pay for things like this, and it hurts. Anything helps and is much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read and help if you can.
