I adopted JoJo 3 years ago from New Life For Paws in Aruba. She was my first foster that I decided to adopt and she is my whole world. She was found as a baby dumped under an abandoned trailer in Aruba. I bring JoJo everywhere I possibly can with me. She is the sweetest, most loving, happy go lucky cuddly girl. She is the best part of my life and I can not imagine life without her. My parents even said she is like a spouse to me. I truly mean that. I can’t even think about it. She has fostered 7 puppies with me and helped find them forever homes, she is the best gentle loving foster sister.

She suddenly became ill and she has been in the ER for 3 nights at Tufts. Her red blood cells dropped to 6 when they are supposed to be 35-45 and they thought she had autoimmune disease. the blood smear with high platelets indicated bone marrow cancer. She is such a good girl even being sick. The doctors said she was so sweet they put her in the cat ward.

Today she did a bone marrow test and we get the results in one week to tell us if it is cancer and if so what type it is. we are holding out hope that it could be a rare auto immune disease that could be treated with steroids.

I will do everything I possibly can to save her no matter what it costs. I am creating this at the advice of my wonderful friend Paige who recently went through this heartbreaking situation with her own dog because unfortunately my insurance only goes up to a max of 4,500 if they even agree to cover that part of this. I deeply regret not getting higher coverage insurance back then. The costs already are over $12k. the funds will be used to pay her ER bills and fight this cancer.

the coombs test was negative so they believe it is bone marrow cancer now and not the autoimmune which is devastating.

I will be getting jojo the care she needs and anything helps.
