On the afternoon of June 28th, JoJo & Deacon’s house caught fire. As of now, we have no answers to the reasons this happened. Thankfully, JoJo and Deacon were not at home and thankfully a good friend and neighbor noticed the smoke and was able to get their dog out of the house. To watch a house burn to the ground is overwhelming to say the least.
Our family would like to extend our “Thank You’s” to all the VOLUNTEERS who showed up to help put the fire out in 90-degree weather. They worked for hours. Fire Trucks coming from all surrounding small towns, working together to fight the fire. So many neighbors stopped by to check on JoJo and Deacon. We Thank You!
The home is a total loss. They are walking away with the clothes they had on and a few items that were in JoJo’s truck. JoJo, who is in the middle of cancer treatments, was on the way home from having a scan of the cancer. This is his second time having cancer in 5 years. It’s heart-wrenching to now know that losing everything in a house fire will be yet another battle to face. We are thankful to know that JoJo & Deacon know that these battles belong to the Lord and Jesus is fighting for them.
Deacon, JoJo, and Cain (the dog) are safe and more than ok. They are loved and we believe the Lord will use this for good. We are so thankful for the generosity. It’s beyond humbling.
All funds collected from GoFundMe will go towards basic needs for JoJo, Deacon, and rebuilding what they need.
