Hi friends!
As many of you know my dog Jojo means the absolute world to me! He has brought so much joy into my life and to those who know him.
This summer Jojo was diagnosed with cancer (anal sac adenocarcinoma). After many appointments including x-rays and ultrasounds, his anal gland and the tumor was removed. Because the area has many sensitive nerves, there was high risk and the margins are not clean. Fortunately, his prognosis is favorable as the cancer was caught early.
Never did I think my dog would be diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately his pet insurance will no longer cover any costs as he has hit the 10k policy limit.
To give Jojo (4 years old) the best opportunity to live a full and long life, he will move forward with radiation assuming his upcoming CT scans confirm that the cancer did not spread. His radiation plan will be 18 treatments (low dose) 5 times a week, for 4 weeks starting in early Dec before determining his chemotherapy plan. With the out of pocket costs adding up to over 5 figures and continuing to add up, I ask that you consider to help donate what you can.
I’m committed to doing all that I can for Jojo (including humbly asking for your support) to provide him with a healthy and cancer free life.
Jojo continues to live his best life, but I know his journey to a healthier life will take a toll on him and I. We are grateful for the compassionate internal medicine and oncologist team at Angell and the dog community, who has provided guidance as I have navigated and learned so much throughout this process. (You can’t spoil your dog enough!)
THANK YOU for your consideration, I appreciate your support. I understand if you are not able to donate, and appreciate all of your good thoughts and prayers. Thanks again & wishing you all a healthy and wonderful holiday season!
