Help Johnson Gearing Rebuild After Fire

Donation protected
Joe Johnson built Johnson Gearing and Fleet Supply from the ground up, opening the doors on September 10, 2001—just one day before the tragedy of 9/11. Through determination, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his customers, Joe grew the business into a thriving and well-known part of the Erie, PA community. For Joe, this business was more than a job; it was his life’s work. It became a true family affair, with family members making up much of the workforce and his son, Jason, preparing to carry the business forward into the next generation. Joe didn’t just have customers; he had friends. He knew people by name, treated everyone with respect, and built relationships that lasted decades.

Tragically, a fire that started in a neighboring business within the same building spread throughout the structure and completely destroyed Johnson Gearing and Fleet Supply. The building—and everything inside—is a total loss. Thankfully, none of the employees were in the building at the time, but several firefighters were injured while bravely responding to the fire. This loss has been devastating for Joe, his family, and the employees who depended on this business for their livelihood. Now, we are facing the enormous task of rebuilding from the ground up—finding temporary and long-term relocation options, replacing machines, equipment, and inventory, and supporting employees during this sudden loss of income.

Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward rebuilding and recovery efforts, replacing essential equipment, machines, and inventory, securing temporary and long-term relocation, and supporting employees affected by the loss of income. Any contribution—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word. Your support, kindness, and prayers mean more than we can express during this incredibly difficult time.
