Help Johnnie Teez Bring West Indian Street Food to the Streets of the Pacific Northwest!
Hey friends, family, and food lovers!
We’re Johnnie Teez — a bold, flavorful mobile kitchen serving up the heart and soul of West Indian street food. Our specialty? The Johnnie Cake — a crispy, golden fried dough filled with mouthwatering seasoned meat, saltfish, or vegan potato curry. Since launching in 2023, we’ve shared our heritage and flavors at local pop-ups and festivals in Seattle, and the response has been incredible.
Now, we’re ready to take the next big step — building a fully-equipped food trailer that will allow us to serve more communities, more often, all year round.
Why We’re Raising $35,000
This next phase of Johnnie Teez includes:
Building or purchasing a mobile food trailer
Installing a safe, fully electric cooking setup (induction stove + fryer)
Covering equipment, permits, and branding
Saving $500/year in fire permit fees and avoiding surprise inspections
Reaching new venues, cities, and year-round events
Last year, operating just twice a month during the summer, we made $4,500 in revenue. Imagine what we could do with a full trailer and the ability to cook safely, cleanly, and efficiently at 8+ events a month!
Your support helps us:
Share West Indian culture with wider communities
Build a sustainable small business with roots in tradition
Create opportunities for growth, jobs, and education around Caribbean cuisine
Whether you can chip in $5 or $500, every bit brings us closer to rolling up with our own trailer, bringing spice and joy to the streets one Johnnie Cake at a time.
Thank you for believing in this dream — we can’t wait to serve you soon.
— The Johnnie Teez Team
