Hi, my name is Martisa Mapp, and my sister and I are fundraising for my amazing niece, Johnea Thompson — a bright, driven, and compassionate young woman who is chasing her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Johnea is a proud graduate of Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, where she shined both academically and athletically. Her dedication and talent earned her a full basketball scholarship to Grambling State University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree. Never one to stop striving, she went on to earn her master’s degree in veterinary and poultry sciences from the prestigious Tuskegee University.

Currently, Johnea is working as a veterinary technician, gaining valuable hands-on experience in animal care. And now, her dream is within reach — she has been accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts!

This is an incredible opportunity, but it also comes with financial challenges. While student loans will cover tuition, Johnea will need support for living expenses, travel, supplies, and the many costs that come with relocating and studying abroad for the next three years.
