Help Johnathon Represent Team USA at the World Championships

Hi everyone! My name is Johnathon Lu, and I’m incredibly honored to share that I’ve been selected to represent Team USA in the U24 (Under 24) division at the 17th IDBF World Dragon Boat Championships this summer in Brandenburg, Germany!

This opportunity is a dream come true—just a year ago, I had never even held a paddle. I first got into dragon boat racing in the Fall of 2023, and since then, this sport has completely transformed my life. By the Spring of 2024, I was allowed to step up as a coach for the San Jose Dragon Boat team, helping others grow while continuing to learn and develop myself.

Now, I have the chance to take this passion to the world stage—but I need your help to do so.

Representing Team USA comes with significant costs, including airfare, lodging, local transportation, food, and team uniforms. As a student-athlete, I’m doing everything possible to fund this journey, but I can’t do it alone.
