On March 7th, my brother, Johnathan Barringer, known and loved by so many of his friends as “Jbear,” was involved in a severe boating accident that left him with life-threatening injuries.
Johnathan sustained major trauma to his head and abdomen, including multiple brain bleeds, a shattered pelvis, and a severe open abdominal wound, along with many other serious injuries. He is currently in the ICU on life support and in a medically induced coma while doctors work around the clock to stabilize him. He recently had a bolt placed in his skull to monitor pressure on his brain, and his condition remains extremely critical.
Right now, our family is holding on to hope and asking for prayers for healing, strength, and a miracle.
If you know Johnathan, you know why so many people call him Jbear. He has always been strong, loyal, and someone who shows up for the people he loves. Right now, we need that same bear strength in him as he fights through the hardest battle of his life.
The road ahead will be long and uncertain. If Johnathan pulls through this unimaginable trauma, he will face extensive medical care, surgeries, and a long rehabilitation journey. The financial burden of ICU care, surgeries, hospital stays, and rehabilitation will be significant.
We are asking first and foremost for prayers. Please keep Johnathan in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are able to give, any donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward his medical expenses, future surgeries, rehabilitation, and supporting his recovery.
Our family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support we have already received. Please also consider sharing this page to help us reach others who know and love Jbear.
Right now, we need the bear in him to fight.
With gratitude,
