Help John with specialized support

Hello,

My name is Krista Harlan and this fundraiser is for my son John. Throughout his life, John has fought to live a "normal" life. He is a great kid with a huge heart and it is so hard for him to do things that a 20 year old should be able to do.

I have had a very difficult time finding the right supports for him and only recently got confirmation of a challenge that I had suspected for a while. Even with insurance, the formal diagnostic process is expensive.

The one therapy that has so far helped is not covered by insurance and costs $125 per season. I had been able to cover the cost for last year but funds are running out. My family has been awesome with financial support for the more unusual challenges we have faced over the years and now I'm asking the community for help. My goal is to raise enough money to pay for both the formal diagnostic testing and provide a year of specialized support. After so many years of struggling, depression and anxiety have made life nearly impossible for my son.

John is currently staying with my sister in order to give him an opportunity to heal without the discord that had become detrimental in our home. I believe the combination of this change along with continued therapy will be the scenario that allows him to start on the road to peace.

Those of you that know my family know about some of challenges we've faced. Most of you don't have the full picture. To protect the privacy of my family I'm not disclosing the other concurrent struggles or even the details of this specific challenge beyond the need for help. Please help me help my son.
