Last night, John Weigel, a navy veteran of 20 years, attended a town hall in Nevada with Bernie Sanders.
After serving his country for more than two decades, John was diagnosed with stage-4 Huntington’s disease, thrown off of his tri-care, and into $130,000+ in medical debt virtually overnight. After turning everywhere for help and finding none, John described contemplating suicide to escape from the crushing debt he has been forced to pay, all for the crime of getting sick.
We cannot stand by and watch our brothers and sisters die at the hands of a system which turns people into number of a bank ledger.
100% of funds raised will go to John to help him pay off his debt.
