John Wayne Miller is the kind of person who shows up for other people.
For 24 years, he worked hard as a dedicated Teamster. He has always been the friend, coworker, and neighbor people could count on. If someone needed help, John Wayne helped. If someone was struggling, he gave what he could. He has spent his life working hard, staying humble, and taking care of the people around him.
Now John Wayne is the one who needs help.
On September 23, 2025, John Wayne was severely injured in a truck accident while he was working. Since then, his life has changed in ways no one could have expected. His union has fought hard for him, but workers’ compensation denied his claim. Because of that denial, John Wayne has gone without pay since September.
For the past seven months, he has used his savings to keep a roof over his head and stay current on basic bills. He did everything he could to hold things together on his own. But his savings are now gone, and the bills have not stopped.
John Wayne is facing eviction from his apartment on May 31. He also needs help covering essential expenses like electric, gas, water, renter’s insurance, and car insurance. He needs his car so he can get to doctor’s appointments and continue getting the care he needs.
Right now, John Wayne is caught in the middle of a difficult fight involving doctors, lawyers, insurance, and the company responsible for his claim. While that fight continues, he still has to survive day to day. He still needs a safe place to live. He still needs utilities. He still needs transportation. He still needs a way forward.
