Support John (Retired Police Officer) and Tricia in Their Time of Need

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for two of the most kind-hearted and selfless people I have had the privilege of knowing in my life. My dear friend John, a retired police officer, has been battling terminal metastatic squamous cell carcinoma (cancer). His wife, Tricia, has been by his side every step of the way as his primary caregiver, but their situation has become increasingly overwhelming due to mounting expenses and a lack of income.

John has been out of work for several years due to health challenges, and Tricia is about to exhaust her PTO and FMLA, meaning their financial hardship is only growing. On top of medical bills, they face the enormous costs of traveling over an hour each way from Sea Isle City, New Jersey—multiple times a week—for John’s treatments in Philadelphia. It's not just the medical bills that are adding up, it is also the gas, tolls and parking fees, and their savings have been depleted.

John and Tricia aren’t just friends—they’re family. I’ve known Tricia since I was five years old, and John since I was twelve. Both are our son’s Godparents, and they have always been a rock of unwavering support for those of us lucky enough to call them family or friends.

Now, it’s our turn to support them. With your help, we can ease their financial burden during this incredibly difficult time and allow Tricia to focus on caring for John without the added stress of bills piling up. Every contribution, no matter how small, can help cover their travel expenses, medical bills, and daily needs. Here’s what your donation will go toward:

• Travel Costs: Gas, tolls, and parking fees for John’s frequent trips to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

• Immediate Living Expenses: Household costs, groceries, and bills as they manage without a sustainable income.

• Medical Bills: Out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance.
