For those who know me, you know I post all the time about my cats. If they're sleeping, eating, or just loafing around, pictures will be taken and pats will be given. Really, my cats are my truest loves in my life.
Tragically, my family's 1.5yr old cat John slipped out and was in some sort of accident/trauma that dislocated his hip leading to a full luxation and pelvic instability. After 7 hours at the emergency vet and $1000 later, they were unsuccessful in resetting his hip into its joint due to the severity of the dislocation and pelvic instability. Currently, John is strictly crated and gets medication every ~8hrs to help manage his pain. Our next steps to help John are for him to undergo surgery, namely a Femoral Head Ostectomy, which will remove a part of his femur to fix his hip.
I'm working with a low cost clinic to offset the price of this treatment, but we are still being quoted at ~$2,000 for the surgery, anesthesia, medication, etc. Time is of the essence to get this operation done, so the clinic has scheduled him to go under on Thursday, June 18. I'm hoping to raise as much money towards the $2,000 goal as possible so that we can get him this much needed care and get him out of pain ASAP.
Thank you to everyone who's taken the time to read and got this far down. Any amount helps significantly and if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post out to others for increased visibility.
