Help for John and Tami
Tami and John are wonderful people who need some love and support after an accident has left John wheelchair bound.
They have stayed so positive through this tragic experience, but the medical bills and expense of making their new life possible are overwhelmingly immense. Tami and John had to make the hard decision to leave their home behind to move to a house that is accessible, in addition to selling their trailer and vehicles to help offset the enormous bills they are facing.
Tami and John have the expenses from the initial accident, life flight, spine and neck surgery, long hospital stay and rehab stay. They also had to purchase a new house before they were able to sell their home as John would not have been able to come home on his release date without an accessible house. There are large amounts of expensive equipment that must be purchased including bed lifts, power wheelchair, adapting the new house for access, and much more. John also needs very expensive dental surgery as a result of the accident. Nursing aides need to be hired to help with daily care. The couple really needs a wheelchair accessible van so that they can stop using public medical transport services, but the expense at this time is just too much for them. The ever mounting bills are adding so much stress to an already terrible experience. Tami and John deserve a basic quality of life that they simply cannot afford.
Tami and John are known by friends and family as some of the most fun, loving, and generous people there are. They are both retired- John worked for CUSD for many years, and Tami has been a teacher for Colusa Unified and Corning School Districts. John is a KZFR community radio broadcaster with many dedicated listeners. Tami is a devoted volunteer and coordinator for the North Valley Animal Disaster Group.
